The Maltlands Park Volunteer Group has been setup to assist the local council maintain this small park and lake on the outskirts of Weston-Super-Mare. The Volunteer Group was formed in the October of 2014 with the objective of working in conjunction with the local council. The group have set out plans to clean up this lovely green space and lake and we are also looking to plant more native wild flowers and shrubs such as holly bushes to try and improve the wildlife. Work will start with the pathways followed by hedgerows and so on. We have volunteer litter pickers out two or three times a week and we have another twelve joining the group this February. Also this February (2015) the council appointed a Park Warden to patrol Maltlands Park and the surrounding area to try and stem the issue of dog owners not clearing up after their pets.
** We are running a - Bag it & Bin it...!!! Campaign.
Please note that this Volunteer Group has only been setup to work within Maltlands Park, we don’t have the resources or manpower to deviate to other areas. If you have issue outside the parameters of Maltlands Park you will have to contact the council.
